Genus description :
A very popular woodplant originating from the eastern part of South Africa (Natal). As Clivia does not require much light, it has become a very popular houseplant which can be put outside in the shade during the summer. It supports only very light frosts and can only be grown in the open ground in coastal areas.
Species description :
The species can be seen in several botanical gardens in Spain and on the Côte d'Azur. Its foliage is 20 mm wide. Its orange flowers are tubular, arqued and pendant and appear in autumn and late winter ( a flowering period more spread out than C miniata)
