The planting of our leftovers is virtually done. To justify our early planting advice (July-August) one just has to look at our Freesia, Tritonias (20cm high and ready to flower in February), Narcissus tazetta Paperwhite (30cm high and in flower at the very moment)
These species formed roots during the summer, took full advantage of the good growing weather in September, Ooctober. They wil now slow down for the winter and will be in a good form to resist to frosts and winds.
Now it is the time to mulch your plantings. with a layer of 5cm compost etc. It will reduce weeds to develop, stop erosion, retains moistureand avoid frost to penetrate.
Shipping of summergrowing species will resume in the January-March period
