We have started shipping of summer planting bulbs. Those who have already received their orders we advise to put the bulbs in the ground now, where they will conserve best. No irrigation, perhaps just a little humidifaction at planting time. In case of the absence of any rain summer, watering can be done at the end of August. All Crocus sativus (Safron) orders will be posted next week (7-11/7/08) Orders containing evergreen species will be only be posted early september.
SUMMER FLOWERING Agapanthus are actually at their peak. Also Crinum are very beautiful: C delagoense since early Mai, the most beautiful borders are made up by Crinum powelli album. In the Allium there are still A. flavum, carinatum, cernum, and just starting A tuberosum.A special mention for the magificant border of Dietes bicolor, planted in 2005, now in flower since early June and looks like going on still for a few more weeks.
