Scilla greilhuberi




This species is quite close to S. hohenackeri ( both originating from the northern mountain ranges in Iran). But S greilhuberii put out new leave muc earlier (early autumn) and its flowerspike is larger . The 7-11 pale lilac blue flowers are assembled in loose racemes; foliage prostrate and channelled. Prefers woodland conditions.

A large genus with a very wide distribution in various climates. It can be found in Europe, around the Mediterraean, in Asia and Africa. They have fleshy roots and prefer to be left undisturbed.
