Narcissus poeticus — Narcisse des Poètes, pheasant's eye

This pleasantly scented wild species is commonly found in the sub alpine meadows of the Pyrenees and the southern Alps. As it flowers late it should be confined to the cooler parts of the mediterranean garden.
The genus
Narcissus mainly comes from the mountains in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. From the enormous range of hybrids and cultivars only a very limited selection is presented. Our choice, determined by their ability to persist in a mediterranean garden, is mainly directed to the botanical species and the tazetta group. As the roots of most species are persistent, Narcissus bulbs benefit of being left undisturbed for several years.
