Habranthus tubispathus

The flowers, which appear before the leaves in June, are slightly oblique, yellow inner, copper red, outer tepals that don't open completely. In a Mediterranean garden the leaves disappear again during the summer droughts. In spite of this short growing cycle this plants naturalises in these conditions.
