Lachenalia aloides ‘Pearsonii’





Flowering mid Fébruary with orange tubular bells and red rims on the end of the petals.
The genus
There are numerous species of Lachenalia (all from the Cape, South Africa). All make an excellent pot plant: decorative foliage, long lasting wax like flowers during the winter months and they grow well in pots. Use a light sandy mix and plant in August on reception of the bulbs. Foliage soon emerges after the first watering; keep them frostfree . Repot the bulbs every year. Flowering order: L. bulbifera, L. aloides 'Pearsonii' and 'Aurea', L. pustulata, L. pallida., L contaminata.
