Dietes grandiflora — Iris Sud africain.

With their tall fanlike upright foliage, they make great border plants and rapidly fill the surrounding areas. Prefers rather humid positions, but can also be cultivated in containers. The flowers resemble those of D. iridioides, but are much larger.
To be planted in humid, warm and half-shaded expositions. Before planting it is advised to keep the rhizomes in water until the new roots emerge. Then they can be planted in pots or in the ground, provided that regular drip-irrigation allows good rootformation and establishment before exposing the plants to dry conditions.
