Dahlia ‘Bishop of Llandaff’
Becoming a very popular dahlia for its dark red flowers and purple green foliage. "Llandaff was an ancient cathedral city on the river Taff in south Wales, now absorbed in the city of Cardiff. The relevant Bishop was the Rt. Rev. Joshua Pritchard Hughes. The Bishop was no gardener preaching strict observance of the Sabbath and he did select the best dahlia from a group raised by his friend and nurseryman Fred Treseders. Award of Merit (RHS) 1928."
