IPHEION GENERAL

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
The genus
Ipheion comes from a Mediteranean climat in the region of North Argentina and South of Brasil. The bulbs have very little protecting tunic and will support some summer water. The common I. uniflorum or its selection 'Wisley Blue' have now been replaced by the largely superior cultivars 'Rolf Fiedler' and 'Alberto Castillo'. Both selections are very good in rockeries but also very recommended for use in containers.
