Large light pink flowers which last until mid december

The genus

Nerine is well known exotic cut flower, which also makes a very good garden plant. It comes from various parts of South Africa: the easiest and most hardiest is N bowdenii from the high Drakensberg mountains (see our winterplanting catalog) the evergreen species come from the South eastern Cape (N undulata and filifolia) and the typical wintergrowers come from the Western Cape such as N. flexuosa and the less hardy N sarniense. Beautiful cutflowers are mostly N sarniense hybrids now available in many different colours.
