Fritillaria carica carica
Very similar to F. bithynica; the difference is essentially in the ribbed seed pods. Yellow flowers are narrowly campanulate with segments up to 2cm long, leaves are glaucous.
The genus
This genus is generally found in the Mediterranean, West of Asia and California on stony hillsides with moisture retentive clays at higher altitudes. Bulbs have very little tunic and can dry out easily. Very light humidity during summer dormancy can be beneficial. Flowers are usually pendulous.
