Oxalis enneaphylla

Native to the grasslands of Patagonia (Chile, Argentina) and the Falkland Islands, Oxalis enneaphylla is a small alpine herbaceous plant forming a compact cushion 7 cm high and 10 cm across. Its fleshy, blue-grey, hairy leaves, divided into numerous leaflets (hence the epithet "nine-leaved"), have a sharp taste due to their oxalic acid content. The almond-scented, five-petalled flowers, pink shading to white, open in profusion from late spring through summer. It requires a sunny position, well-drained stony or sandy soil, and a cool climate.
The genus
Oxalis is a very large genus , especially known by its invasive weedy species. However, the species presented make excellent and attractive container plants. When referring to an invasive species we will surely draw your attention to it. A large number of Oxalis species from South Africa that could be described as 'shrubby.
