Oxalis karooica syn O. gracilis)
The color of the O. karooicum resembles that of O. massoniana but the
flowers are a little larger and the foliage is quite different. I place it
very high on my list of good performers. As with most of my Oxalis it stays
in pots, the same pots, for years. The leaves of O. karooica are much smaller than say those of O. flava but they do have the same palmate structure.
Le feuillage ressemble une grande version de O. versicolor (tige tenant une palme des 8-12 pétioles présentant 3 lobes étroites chacune). Par contre ses fleurs orangées ressemblent celles de O. massionana mais légèrement plus grand.
The genus
Oxalis is a very large genus , especially known by its invasive weedy species. However, the species presented make excellent and attractive container plants. When referring to an invasive species we will surely draw your attention to it. A large number of Oxalis species from South Africa that could be described as 'shrubby.
