Calochortus vestae

Calochortus vestae (Liliaceae), the Coast Range mariposa lily, is a bulbous perennial endemic to California, growing in the northern Coast Ranges and at scattered Sierra Nevada foothill sites, typically on heavy clay and serpentine soils. Stems 30–50 cm tall carry one to six erect, cup-shaped flowers, creamy white to lilac or pink, each petal marked with a pale yellow zone and a reddish-brown blotch. Flowering runs from May to July. Grow in well-drained soil, moist during growth and completely dry through summer dormancy.
