Triteleia bridgesii

Native to the North Coast Ranges of northern California and the Sierra Nevada foothills, extending into Oregon, Triteleia bridgesii (syn. Brodiaea bridgesii) grows on dry rocky slopes and heavy, often serpentine soils. Its upright stems, 10-55 cm tall, branch near the top into several stalks bearing tubular, purple-blue to lavender flowers that open into six-pointed stars. Like other triteleias, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, with a dry summer dormancy, and suits wildflower meadows and naturalistic borders.
