Geissorhiza juncea

Geissorhiza juncea grows on sandy flats and slopes in the Western Cape province of South Africa. This cormous perennial, a member of the Iridaceae, reaches 40 cm in height and bears a spike of 5 to 8 small white to pale yellow flowers. Flowering takes place during the Southern Hemisphere spring, from August to November. Like most Cape bulbs, it requires well-drained sandy soil, full sun, winter watering and a dry summer dormancy.
