Hesperantha erecta is a poorly documented species within the genus Hesperantha, family Iridaceae, native to southern and tropical Africa. As no reliable species-specific information could be found, this description is given at genus level: Hesperantha are cormous geophytes with hard, woody tunics, generally bearing white or pink flowers, occasionally yellow or purple, with a style dividing into spreading branches near the mouth of the perianth tube. Many flower in late summer or autumn and favour damp soils during the growing season. In cultivation they need full sun to part shade and well-drained soil.
