The exact species "Bulbine bulbora" could not be reliably identified, so this description covers the genus. Bulbine (Asphodelaceae) includes around one hundred species, mostly South African with a few Australian, forming tufts of fleshy, linear to cylindrical leaves arising from a bulb or swollen rhizome. Long upright racemes carry numerous small star-shaped yellow, occasionally orange, flowers with characteristic bearded stamens, from spring into summer. Plants of open, well-drained habitats, they tolerate summer drought and are grown in full sun.
