Triteleia grandiflora

Native to western North America, from British Columbia to northern California, with disjunct populations as far as Wyoming and Colorado, Triteleia grandiflora grows in grassland, sagebrush steppe and open woodland. This cormous Asparagaceae produces two or three narrow basal leaves up to 70 cm long, and an erect stem up to 75 cm tall bearing an umbel of numerous funnel-shaped flowers, blue to almost white, marked with a darker midvein, the inner tepals somewhat ruffled. Flowering occurs in spring. It requires full sun and well-drained soil, with a dry summer rest.
