Romulea sp orange

This entry corresponds to an unconfirmed Romulea with orange flowers - a colour found in several South African species of the genus, such as R. obscura or R. monadelpha. Romulea are small cormous Iridaceae with thread-like leaves, widespread across the winter-rainfall zone of southern Africa and the Mediterranean basin. Their flared, cup-shaped flowers, borne on a short stem, open in full sun and close in cloudy or cool weather. It requires well-drained sandy soil, a sunny position and a dry summer rest.
