Ferraria kambergensis

Native to the southern Kamiesberg, in Namaqualand, South Africa, Ferraria kamiesbergensis - now treated as a subspecies of Ferraria macrochlamys - is a 10-15 cm cormous geophyte, branching near the base. Its pale yellow flowers, darker at the margins and mildly foul-smelling, have tapering, coiled tepal tips and basal nectaries. It is pollinated by large potter wasps. It requires well-drained soil and a sunny position, with a dry summer rest.
