Moraea sp? S.Hill 99 (Hexaglottis)

This plant is recorded under an uncertain identification ("sp? S.Hill 99"), placed within the Hexaglottis group of the genus Moraea, without confirmation of a precise species. The five species of this group, formerly classified in the separate genus Hexaglottis and now included within Moraea, are native to the winter-rainfall region of southern Africa. They are cormous Iridaceae with long, narrow basal leaves, a branched stem bearing flattish, short-lived yellow flowers facing upwards, and a style with thread-like branches alternating with the stamens. They require well-drained soil and a sunny position. Species not confirmed; description given at genus level (Hexaglottis group).
