This plant is recorded under an uncertain identification ("sp?"), with no confirmed species within the genus Lachenalia. This genus, family Asparagaceae (formerly Hyacinthaceae), comprises around 130 bulbous species native to South Africa and Namibia. The plants form a basal rosette of linear to lance-shaped leaves, often spotted or striped, and an upright flower spike bearing a dense raceme of tubular, six-parted flowers in shades from blue to yellow, pink or red, often with contrasting markings. Flowering occurs in late winter or early spring. They require well-drained soil, a sunny position, and a dry summer dormancy. Species not confirmed; description given at genus level.
