Watsonia meriana ?

Native to the Cape provinces of South Africa, Watsonia meriana is a perennial cormous Iridaceae wrapped in fibrous tunics, often reaching over a metre and sometimes two when in flower. Each corm produces three or four erect, lance-shaped leaves with thickened midribs and margins, up to 60 cm long. The inflorescence is an open spike of 8 to 25 orange to reddish or purplish flowers with a long tube and spreading tepals. The plant also multiplies by cormlets formed at nodes along the flowering stem, making it a vigorous species that naturalises readily. It requires full sun and well-drained soil.
