The incomplete species name could not be matched with certainty to a described species; this entry presents the genus Calydorea. This small genus of bulbous Iridaceae, centred on temperate South America but extending to Mexico and Florida, comprises around twenty species with tunicated bulbs. The flowers, blue, violet, white or yellow depending on species, have subequal tepals spreading from the base, free stamens and a short-branched style. The genus now includes several formerly separate genera (Salpingostylis, Cardiostigma, Catila, Itysa). Grown in well-drained soil, sunny position, dry summer dormancy. Species not confirmed with certainty; description given at genus level.
