Lymbiglossum maculatum

Native to the Mexican states of Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Veracruz, as well as Guatemala, Rhynchostele maculata (formerly Odontoglossum maculatum) grows epiphytically on trees and rocks in montane forest, between 1750 and 3000 m elevation. From autumn through spring it produces three to six flowers about 6.5 cm across, sepals and petals typically blotched brown on a yellow-green ground, with a white to pale yellow lip. It is grown under cool to intermediate conditions, with moderate light, constant humidity, and reduced watering outside the growing season.
