The epithet "dwarf" does not correspond to any specific species but presumably designates a small-growing form or cultivar within the genus Crinum. The description below therefore applies to the genus in general: Crinums are Amaryllidaceae with a large tunicated bulb extended into a neck or pseudostem, native to tropical and warm-temperate, moisture-rich regions worldwide. The leaves are long and strap-shaped, evergreen or deciduous depending on the species. In summer they produce umbels of large, fragrant flowers, often pink, white or striped, borne on a leafless stem. Grown in rich, well-drained soil, in a sunny position.
