Haworthia aristata

Endemic to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, from Port Elizabeth to Kommadagga, Haworthia aristata is a small, stemless succulent Asphodelaceae forming rosettes of dark green to bluish-green, only slightly translucent leaves with finely toothed or entire, keeled margins. Like most Haworthias, it dislikes prolonged moisture around the roots and requires a very free-draining substrate. It is grown in bright light with protection from the hottest midday sun, which causes the foliage to redden or yellow. Hardy to about -1°C, it propagates readily from offsets, leaf cuttings or seed.
