Ledebouria

This unidentified accession belongs to the genus Ledebouria (Asparagaceae), native mainly to the summer-rainfall regions of southern Africa, where around forty species are recorded in South Africa alone. These small bulbous plants form rosettes of one to several fleshy leaves, smooth or textured, green to purple, sometimes marked with darker spots. A slender stem carries a loose raceme of small star-shaped flowers, coloured lilac, pink or greenish-yellow depending on the species. The exact species of this accession has not been determined. Grow in well-drained soil, in bright to partly shaded exposure, with a dry rest during dormancy.
