Galtonia viridi/cand ??

The precise identification of this entry remains uncertain between Galtonia candicans and Galtonia viridiflora, two bulbous species native to southern Africa (South Africa, notably the mountains of the Eastern Cape and Lesotho for the latter). The large bulb produces strap-shaped, fleshy, grey-green leaves and a flower spike from 60 cm to 1.5 m tall depending on species. In summer it bears, in a loose, arching raceme, up to 30 pendent bells, white and fragrant in G. candicans, pale green in G. viridiflora. These bulbs need fertile, well-drained soil, full sun, regular watering while growing, and planting at 10 cm depth.
