Lilium tigrinum blanc

Lilium tigrinum, a synonym of Lilium lancifolium (tiger lily), is a scaly-bulbed geophyte native to China, Japan and Korea. The sturdy stem, 90 to 150 cm tall, bears narrow, spirally arranged lance-shaped leaves, often carrying small blackish bulbils in the leaf axils that allow vegetative propagation. In late summer it produces numerous turk's-cap-type reflexed flowers. The "white" form (close to the cultivar 'Flore Alba') differs from the wild orange, heavily purple-spotted type in having a pure white corolla, with little or no spotting. It requires well-drained, slightly acidic soil and a sunny to partly shaded position.
