Bellevalia webbiana

Endemic to the Tuscan and Emilia-Romagna pre-Apennines of central Italy, growing between 100 and 700 m in meadows, woodland margins and olive groves, Bellevalia webbiana (Webb's hyacinth) is a bulbous plant in the Asparagaceae, classed as endangered. A globose bulb, up to 3.5 cm across, produces smooth, erect leaves and a 30–60 cm stem bearing a loose raceme of flowers from March to April. It grows in a sunny position, in well-drained soil, and becomes dormant after flowering.
