Tigridia dans Monbretia feuillage plié bulbe allongé

The original title of this listing, combining the names Tigridia and Monbretia (a vernacular name for Crocosmia), appears to result from a filing error; the plant, described with pleated foliage and an elongated bulb, in fact corresponds to the genus Tigridia, whose precise species remains uncertain. Tigridia comprises around thirty bulbous plants from Mexico and Central America in the Iridaceae family, with characteristic pleated, sword-shaped leaves. In summer, each stem produces a succession of ephemeral, one-day flowers with three large, colourful tepals spotted at the centre. It requires sun, well-drained soil, and dry winter dormancy.
