Pelargonium grossularoides

Occurring from the Cape Provinces to KwaZulu-Natal and Mozambique, Pelargonium grossularioides is a fibrous-rooted perennial geranium with a low, sprawling habit, its stems reaching up to 50 cm. The rounded, lobed and toothed leaves release a coconut scent when crushed. Small pink to purple flowers, gathered in umbels of several dozen, appear almost year-round. It grows in moist soil, in sun to part shade, thriving equally in winter- and summer-rainfall regions, without a pronounced dormant period.
