Moraea louisabolusiae

The precise species Moraea louisabolusiae, described from the Western Cape (South Africa) and named for the botanist Louisa Bolus, remains poorly documented horticulturally; the description is therefore completed at genus level. Moraea is a large South African genus of Iridaceae with tunicated corms, producing one or few narrow, often channelled leaves and a stem bearing short-lived, iris-like flowers with six tepals, in colours that vary widely between species. Flowering occurs in spring, in the winter-rainfall region. It requires full sun, well-drained soil, and a dry summer dormancy of the corm.
