Gasteria batesiana

Gasteria batesiana is a succulent native to the inland escarpment of northeastern South Africa. Small and clump-forming through basal offsets, it bears dark green, very rough, triangular to linear leaves, spreading to recurved, marked with numerous white spots arranged in transverse bands. Leaves are distichous when young, becoming spirally arranged with age. In spring it produces arching flower stems bearing pendent, tubular flowers, pink with pale yellow tips. It is grown in part shade to bright light, in a well-drained substrate, with a winter rest marked by reduced watering.
