Cheiridopsis acuminata

Cheiridopsis acuminata is a succulent native to the arid Richtersveld region, on the border between South Africa and Namibia, growing on quartzite flats and slopes. A succulent subshrub forming loose, spreading clumps up to 15 cm tall and 25 cm across, it bears pairs of fleshy, pale blue-grey, finely speckled, downy leaves with translucent margins. In winter or spring it produces large, solitary flowers, dirty white to dull yellow. Typical of the winter-rainfall Aizoaceae, it is grown in full sun, in a very free-draining substrate, with a pronounced summer rest.
