The name "Orphrys sp?" refers to the genus Ophrys, tuberous terrestrial orchids native to the Mediterranean basin, North Africa and Asia Minor, growing in dry grassland and scrubland. As the precise species cannot be confirmed here, only the genus's general features are given: a rosette of basal leaves appearing in autumn, followed in spring by a flowering stem bearing a few remarkable flowers whose labellum mimics the shape, colour and scent of a bee or other insect to attract a specific pollinator through pseudocopulation. These orchids require well-drained, calcareous soil and a sunny position, with a pronounced summer dormancy.
