Lycorine x L squamigera xN bowde »i

This name refers to a supposed cross between Lycoris squamigera and Nerine bowdenii, two bulbous members of the Amaryllidaceae. Lycoris squamigera, native to China and Korea, produces spring foliage that dies down before fragrant, trumpet-shaped pink flowers appear on bare stems in late summer. Nerine bowdenii, native to South Africa, flowers in autumn with umbels of pink, wavy-petalled, recurved flowers. Such an intergeneric hybrid, rare and not a stabilised grex, would likely show pink autumn flowers; it should be grown in well-drained soil, in full sun, with a pronounced summer dormancy.
