Bilbergia nutans

Billbergia nutans (sometimes misspelled 'Bilbergia'), commonly called Queen's Tears, is an epiphytic bromeliad native to forests in Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina. It forms a rosette of narrow, arching, silvery-green, toothed leaves up to 35-40 cm long. In spring, a pendent stalk bears pink bracts and drooping chartreuse-green flowers edged in blue with protruding yellow stamens, weeping nectar that gives the plant its common name. Tough and easy to grow, it does well in partial shade, in pots or mounted, in a free-draining substrate with humid conditions.
