Oxalis obtusa is a widespread and extremely variable South African bulbous species, both in flower colour (white, yellow, pink, orange, often with a darker throat) and in leaf shape. Easy to grow, it forms a low clump of trifoliate leaves and flowers abundantly in winter and spring. It is planted in a sunny position, on well-drained soil, and grows equally well in the open ground or in pots, with a dry rest during its summer dormancy.
