Oxalis palmifrons

Oxalis palmifrons is a bulbous species native to the western Karoo of South Africa, unique in the genus for its miniature palm-frond-like foliage: each leaf divides into 20 to 30 narrow leaflets radiating from a central point. This dwarf plant, barely 8 cm tall, occasionally produces small white or yellow flowers. Grown chiefly for its striking foliage, it thrives in full sun, in very well-drained mineral soil, and grows through winter.
