Asphodelus

Asphodelus fistulosus (Asphodelaceae) is a short-lived, sometimes annual perennial native to the Mediterranean basin and western Asia, now naturalised on several continents. Its thin, hollow, cylindrical leaves resemble chives and accompany branched stems in spring and summer bearing small, star-shaped, pale pink flowers with a darker pink midvein. It grows spontaneously on poor, sandy or stony soils in sunny locations. Grow in full sun, in poor, well-drained soil; it self-seeds readily.
