Crocosmia × crocosmiiflora 'Norwich Canary' (Iridaceae) is a compact, vigorous montbretia cultivar valued for its bright, canary-yellow, funnel-shaped flowers with a pale orange reverse. In summer, a supple clump of sword-shaped foliage about 40 cm tall sends up arching stems of 60–70 cm bearing the flower spikes from July to September. It suits borders, containers and bouquets, its stems lasting well as cut flowers. Grow in full sun, in rich, moist soil; hardy, with a winter mulch recommended further north.
