Crocus goulimyi (Iridaceae) is a cormous plant endemic to the southern Peloponnese in Greece, discovered in the Mani region in the 1950s and named for the amateur botanist Constantine Goulimis. In autumn it bears long-tubed, bowl-shaped flowers in lilac to mauve-violet, paler within, with contrasting golden anthers and styles; white-flowered forms known as 'Albus' also exist. It grows naturally in rocky ground, often among olive groves. Grow in full sun, in well-drained soil that stays dry in summer; hardy and free-flowering.
