elatus

Cyrtanthus elatus (Amaryllidaceae), the Scarborough lily, is an evergreen bulbous plant native to the Cape Province of South Africa. Sporadically during the warmer months, it bears large, trumpet-shaped, glowing scarlet flowers on stout stems, above leathery, strap-shaped leaves that quickly form clumps. Cultivars also come in orange, yellow, pink or white. Widely grown as a container plant. Grow in full sun or bright part shade, in rich, well-drained soil; frost-tender, keep frost-free in cold climates.
