Hesperantha buhri

Category photo (no photo of its own for this entry)
Hesperantha buhrii is a South African cormous plant in the Iridaceae family, described in 1931. It bears highly fragrant, white star-shaped flowers marked with pink on the outer face of the segments, a distinctive contrast setting it apart from other species in the genus. Like other Hesperantha, it is a cormous plant with narrow, linear leaves suited to the well-drained, sandy soils of the Cape. As detailed distribution data remain limited, this account stays general for this poorly documented Hesperantha species.
