Ornithogalum filifolium is a South African bulbous plant in the Hyacinthaceae family, recognisable by its fine, thread-like foliage reminiscent of a rush, which gives it its epithet. It produces a stem bearing small, white, star-shaped flowers with a green midline on the reverse of the tepals, gathered in a loose raceme. Flowering occurs in spring. This species thrives in well-drained soil, full sun, and a dry summer rest typical of Cape bulbs.
