Ornithogalum nanum

Ornithogalum nanum is a small bulbous plant in the Hyacinthaceae family, whose epithet "nanum" (dwarf) reflects its compact, low-growing habit. Like many Ornithogalum from the Mediterranean basin and western Asia, it produces narrow basal foliage and a short spike of white star-shaped flowers with a green dorsal stripe, in spring. Easy to grow, it is particularly well suited to rockeries and borders, in well-drained soil and full sun, with a pronounced summer rest.
